MAY REFLECTIONS

Image
What a journey we have experienced in the month of May.  We started by paying close attention to our words, recognizing that they truly matter, and made a conscious choice to live intentionally. Where is the joy in life if we are not deliberate about what we value most? We took the time to reflect on what success really means to us, leading to a shift in our perspective. Success is found in the little things that bring us happiness, provoke thought, and encourage us to reconsider our priorities. It aligns with God's will and emphasizes our choice to prioritize growth over comparison. True success is measured by the positive impacts we make rather than just receiving applause. It is reflected in our inner peace and in living with purpose. Given that we all have a purpose, why allow it to remain dormant? There is a spark within us that needs to be fanned into a flame. As the curtain draws to a close for the month of May, may we consider what truly matters and pursue it with vigor. By...

THE SPARK WITHIN

Image
“Do not neglect the gift that is in you.” – 1 Timothy 4:14 We are born with something special, a spark placed deep within. It may be a talent, an idea, a passion, or a vision. It’s not random. It’s purposeful. And yet, how often do we leave that spark unattended, buried beneath fear, comparison, or the chaos of life? The truth is, we all carry gifts that are meant to be stirred, not stored. We were not created to simply get by, blending into the background. There is something in you that the world needs-something no one else can deliver in quite the same way. Recognizing the Gift Sometimes we don’t recognize our own potential because it doesn’t look like someone else’s. We see singers, speakers, and artists shining publicly, and we think our quiet skill in listening, organizing, or creating behind the scenes isn’t valuable. But it is. Every gift has an impact when it's used with purpose. Why the Spark Dims Life has a way of distracting us. Responsibilities pile up, setbacks steal ...

STIR UP THE GIFT WITHIN YOU

Image
Happy Children's Day celebration. Inside each of us lies a treasure chest of untapped gifts, hidden talents, and dormant potential. Life often distracts us, making us forget the power we carry within. But today, choose to awaken it. Stir up that idea you’ve shelved. Reignite that passion you’ve ignored. You were born with purpose, not to blend in, but to shine. Your gift is needed. Your voice matters. Your potential has no expiration date. Don't wait for the perfect moment. Start where you are, with what you have.  Greatness begins with a simple step: belief in yourself. You’ve got what it takes. Now stir it up.

SUCCESS: LIVE WITH PURPOSE

Image
Hi there. We are completing the series on success today by seeing how a purpose driven life, rooted in Christ is more powerful than any pressure the world can place on you.  So many of us live under pressure; pressure to succeed, to impress, to “arrive.”  But as followers of Christ, we are not called to strive for worldly approval. We are called to live with eternal purpose. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” - Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) Pressure Comes From the World; Purpose Comes From God Pressure says: You’re not doing enough. Purpose says: I’ve already prepared a path for you. Pressure pushes us to compare, compete, and perform. But when you know your God-given purpose, you walk in clarity, confidence, and peace, regardless of external success or recognition. Living With Purpose Is the Highest Success Jesus never hurried, yet He fulfilled His entire mission in just over three years of ministry. He d...

SUCCESS: LET PEACE BE THE MEASURE

Image
The world system promotes hustle, equating success with busyness, constant striving, and never-ending goals. However, Scripture presents a different perspective; a life marked by peace is one of the clearest indications of alignment with God. “ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts... and be thankful.” -Colossians 3:15 (ESV) Peace Is a Spiritual Compass Peace is more than a feeling. It’s a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and a divine indicator that we are walking in step with the Lord. When our decisions, relationships, and pace are surrendered to God, peace becomes a natural byproduct. In contrast, a life of constant anxiety, burnout, and striving may be a sign we’re chasing the wrong version of success.  “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” -Isaiah 26:3 Peace Does Not Mean Life Without Problems Even Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.” (John 16:33) But He immediately followed with, “Take heart; I have ...

SUCCESS: IMPACT NOT APPLAUSE

Image
True success isn’t about being seen, but about being faithful when no one is watching.  When we mistake visibility for value, we can lose sight of the quiet, powerful impact of a Christ-centered life. But Scripture reminds us that the greatest impact is often made in secret, and the greatest rewards come from God, not man. “ Your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” - Matthew 6:4 (ESV) Success Is Serving the Kingdom We were not placed on this earth just to achieve personal dreams, but to advance God’s Kingdom. That means using your time, gifts, and influence, no matter how big or small, for His glory. You may never preach from a stage, but you may speak life to a co-worker on the brink of despair. You may not write books, but you may raise children who will one day change lives. That is Kingdom impact. “ Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” - Colossians 3:23 The Danger of Chasing Applause Applause is fleeting. And when we build our lives around r...

SUCCESS: CHOOSE GROWTH NOT COMPARISON

Image
In a digital age filled with perfectly curated lives, it's all too easy to measure our success by comparing ourselves to others. But comparison is not just a thief of joy- it’s a distortion of purpose. As believers, our calling is not to outdo others, but to become more like Christ. Success, then, isn’t measured by how we stack up to others, but by how faithfully we’re growing in Him. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” - Hebrews 12:1–2 (ESV) The Problem With Comparison Comparison is subtle. We often don’t even realize we’re doing it: A co-worker seems more “blessed.” Someone else’s life looks easier, prettier, or more fruitful. A friend’s ministry is growing faster. But God didn’t create us to copy each other. He created us to follow Him. “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves... but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” - 2 C...

SUCCESS=ALIGNMENT WITH GOD'S VALUES

Image
Success, in God's eyes, is faithfulness, not fame. It’s obedience over outcome. When our lives reflect His character and align with His Word, we are truly successful, no matter what the world says. “ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33 (ESV) What Are God-Given Values? Your values reflect the priorities God has placed on your heart. They may include: Love Humility Stewardship Faith Compassion Justice Generosity Holiness These values aren’t just good principles- they’re reflections of Christ’s nature. And when we build our lives on them, we’re not just living well- we’re living wisely. Living Out of Alignment Many believers feel spiritually dry or disconnected, not because they lack faith, but because they’ve unknowingly drifted from the values God planted within them. Maybe work has become an idol, or people-pleasing has silenced their God-given convictions. “ What does it profit a man to gain the whole ...

REDEFINING SUCCESS: WHAT REALLY MATTERS

Image
In a world that glorifies wealth, titles, and fame, it’s easy to mistake these external achievements as the ultimate measure of success. But true success isn’t a one-size-fits-all destination; it’s a deeply personal journey that reflects our values, growth, and purpose. 1. Success Is Alignment With Your Values Success starts with knowing who you are and what matters most to you. Are you living a life that honors your values, integrity, creativity, service, freedom, or family? The more your daily actions align with your core beliefs, the closer you are to your own version of success. * Ask yourself : Am I proud of the choices I make, even when no one is watching? 2. Growth Over Comparison Don’t measure your worth against someone else's timeline. Your only true competition is the person you were yesterday. Celebrate small wins. Every time you step out of your comfort zone, every failure that teaches you something, every habit you build; that’s success. * Remember : Progress is pers...

LIVE INTENTIONALLY

YOUR WORDS MATTER MORE THAN YOU THINK

Image
We’ve all heard the saying, “Speak it into existence.” While it might sound like a motivational slogan, there's real truth behind it. The words we choose, whether spoken aloud or whispered internally, carry incredible power. They shape our thoughts, mold our actions, and influence the energy we bring into every room. 1. Words Shape Reality Have you ever noticed how your day feels when you start it by saying, "Today's going to be great," versus "Ugh, I hate Mondays"? Our brains are wired to respond to language. Positive speech triggers optimistic thinking, which in turn can shift your mood and even your decision-making. Simply put: your words help craft your reality. 2. The Ripple Effect of Positivity Positive speaking affects more than just you. It’s contagious. A kind word or a genuine compliment can uplift someone’s entire day. Whether it’s a team meeting, a family get-together, or a random chat with a stranger, the words you use contribute to the emotiona...

A FRESH CHAPTER BEGINS

Image
There’s something miraculous about the start of a new month. It’s like a mini New Year, a clean slate, a fresh page in the calendar where anything feels possible. As we welcome the month of May, take a moment to pause and reflect: What do you want this month to bring? What are you ready to leave behind? Each new month arrives quietly, yet carries the bold invitation to begin again. May is not just another stretch of days; it’s an opportunity. A chance to realign with what matters, to rise from where you’ve been, and to step forward with clarity and courage. Maybe last month was heavy. Maybe it was full of victories. Either way, you are here, and that means possibility is alive and well. Whether you’re setting new goals, embracing a slower pace, or simply trying to stay afloat, the month of May reminds you that growth doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s in the small shifts, the early mornings, the kind words, the boundaries honored, etc. Here are a few gentle prompts to carry into ...
