SYSTEMS THAT LET YOUR GOALS THRIVE

Image
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Do have a seat and make yourself comfortable. So in my effort to be a part of your success story this year, I have taken the month of January to iron out your goals with you, shining the torch in the dark places and just making sure that - that goal is achieved. We looked at systems and benefits the last time, we are going to look at specific systems you need to put in place for your goals to come to fruition. Did you know-that God is the author of systems? They did'nt just start today. When God created the world we live in today and the first man and woman, He put a system in place so that the earth and man can reproduce itself. Imagine if God had to create every single man, plant, animal currently inhabiting the earth- that would be a lot of work. So when God rested on the 7th day, He could do that because, He had set up a sysytem in place that would allow the earth run on auto-pilot. (Genesis 1-2:2-3, Act 17:26-28).  You too can rest when you have syst...

SYSTEMS AND YOUR GOALS

Image
Hello and welcome to today's post. Thank you for stopping by and sharing this space with me. Much appreciated 👍. Life can be so busy that we do not "have time to check time" (in our Nigerian parlance). But hold up, don't get carried away by "mindless busyness".  You know that working all over the place like a mindless robot, and I dare say you are so exhausted with little to show for it. The solution is here today. You simply need to put systems in place to measure your effort and productivity against your goals. The idea for this post came as I was putting together the last post . While looking at the inspiring life of Thomas Edison, I saw that Edison's approach to invention was not just about creating products, but about creating systems. So Thomas Edison's over 10,000 failures were not just a mindless rat race or a dog chasing its tail, but he was building systems in place that would help him succeed. Let me not get ahead of myself, so let's ...

DON'T LET FAILURE HOLD YOU BACK

Image
Hello. Today I'll be sharing with us the inspiring story of Thomas Edison. If someone was/is synonymous with failure, that would be Thomas Edison. I want to believe your life is nowhere near what his was as concerning the number of times you've "failed" on something. Thomas Edison’s story is a remarkable journey of perseverance, innovation, and resilience in adversity. Born on February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio, Edison had a tough start. He struggled academically in traditional schools due to his perceived difficulties with learning, and his teachers labeled him as "slow." This led his mother, Nancy Edison, to pull him out of school and homeschool him, allowing him to explore his own interests at his own pace. Edison’s curiosity and relentless drive to learn were key to his future success. He was constantly experimenting, inventing, and reading books to expand his knowledge. His mother’s encouragement to pursue his passions played a critical role in his devel...

THE INSPIRING STORY OF HELEN KELLER

Image
Helen Keller was an inspiring American author, activist, and lecturer who faced tremendous challenges after becoming deaf and blind at a young age. With the support of her devoted teacher, Anne Sullivan, she learned to communicate, ultimately mastering reading, writing, and speaking, and earning a college degree. Keller became a powerful advocate for people with disabilities, women's rights, and social issues, using her voice to raise awareness and inspire others. She wrote several books, including her autobiography, and traveled the world to share her message of resilience and hope. Her remarkable life reminds us of the strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of education. Here are some inspiring quotes by Helen Keller: 1. The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. 2. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. 3. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. 4. We can do anything we want to if we stick to it long enou...

WEIGHTS AND YOUR GOALS

Image
Drop the weights. Have you ever tried running with a very heavy back pack, how did you fare? Imagine trying to catch the last bus for the day and having a heavy bag pulling behind you. Certainly, others without any baggage will surely outrun you and catch the bus. What are "weights" and how do they affect your ability to achieving your goals? I n this context, weights refer to emotional baggage, past hurts, past failures, negative beliefs, and how they can weigh us down and hinder our progress. These emotional weights can also manifest as self-doubt, difficulty trusting others, insecurities, and unresolved issues. All of these create obstacles on the path to reaching your goals. If you want to achieve your set goals this year and beyond, it will be beneficial to lighten your load. Interestingly, some of these weights are within your control, while others are not. How you respond to these two divides is very important to finishing strong. If you can't change a situation, c...

TEN (10) AREAS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO WRITE A VISION

Image
It's Fabulous Friday, a wonderful day to explore areas where you should be able to write a vision for your life. Before diving into that, I want to share a humorous conversation I had with my 2-year-old, which, upon reflection, holds a deeper meaning. I asked my 2-year-old to do something and he responded with, ''Why?''. I repeated the instruction, and he continued with, ''WHY? WHY? WHY?'' At this point, he thought we were playing a game of ''Why.'' The interesting part is that once the ''why'' is understood, figuring out the ''HOW'' is much easier. Knowing your "WHY" allows strategy and execution to fall into place more smoothly. Here are ten (10) areas you should be able to write a vision for your life. 1. What do I want to do with the rest of my life? (develop a vision statement). 2. Vision for spiritual growth and development. (a feeding system for nurturing your spirit man). 3. Vision for...

VISION VS GOALS

Image
Welcome to Winning Wednesday. Vision and goals can often be confusing; many people mistakenly believe they are the same thing, but they are not. A vision is a long-term, overarching aspiration or dream that provides direction and inspiration for the future. It reflects where you want to be or what you hope to achieve in the broader context of your life. In contrast, a goal is a specific, measurable, and time-bound objective that serves as a concrete step toward realizing that vision. While a vision is broad and abstract, a goal is concrete and actionable. In short, the vision represents the "why," while the goal represents the "what" and "how." Example 1: Personal Fitness Vision: "I want to be healthier and more physically fit in the long term."  This is a broad, aspirational idea about your overall well-being. It’s not something you can measure directly, but it provides a sense of purpose and direction. Goal: "I will exercise for 30 minutes...

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND YOUR GOALS

Image
Hello There! A prospective employer once asked me if I was familiar with emotional intelligence. At the time, I was unsure of what it entailed and took a guess in my response. The term was a new buzzword in the corporate world, but my job-hunting self wasn't particularly concerned about its meaning or relevance. After the interview, however, I felt compelled to research the concept that had left me searching for an answer. Emotional intelligence, often abbreviated as EI or EQ (emotional quotient), refers to the ability to understand, use, and manage your emotions positively. This skill helps relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, navigate challenges, and diffuse conflict. Emotional intelligence is essential in both personal and professional settings, as it fosters stronger relationships and supports success in achieving personal and career goals. High emotional intelligence is often linked to better mental health, job performance, and leadership abilities. ...

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: Aligning Your Thoughts With Your Goals

Hello, Thanksgiving Thursday 😍😎 Ever heard about the Law of Attraction?  It is a concept that suggests that the thoughts and feelings you focus on attract similar experiences, people, and circumstances into your life. Simply put, you are what you think, focus on, or give your energy to. The emphasis is on the power of positive thinking and visualization. A lady was ten minutes late for work, and she felt paranoid and anxious about the reaction her boss would have upon her arrival. The thought of being late consumed her, and to make matters worse, there was unusually heavy traffic on her route to the office. By the time she finally arrived at work, her boss—who typically doesn't come in early—happened to be there before her. The Law of Attraction happened. So you have these beautiful goals you want to achieve. One way to keep it going and not lose steam is to ensure that you apply the Law of Attraction. Make a conscious effort to think the right thoughts about your goals. Don'...

BREAKING DOWN BIG GOALS INTO MANAGEBLE STEPS

Image
Hello and welcome to Winning Wednesday. We're still fresh into the new year, and some of us are still trying to wrap our heads around it. For others, they're already running with their vision ( which I'll talk about in a few   days ) for the year. With many seminars, conferences, not to forget the beginning of the year fastings around and ongoing. Ultimately, all that knowledge and exercise would amount to nothing if you don't put in the work. So yesterday we looked at why you need to set goals. And someone, somewhere is staring at this huge goal, and the goal is staring back at them. You're wondering how and where can you start from? Come closer, lets see how you can break down your big goals into manageable steps. Breaking down big goals into manageable steps is a crucial strategy for maintaining focus and ensuring that large ambitions don’t feel overwhelming. 1. Specificity (clarify your big goal): What is that thing you want to achieve in 2025. State it out cl...

WHY YOU NEED TO SET GOALS

Image
Hello there! How are you doing today? I want to take a moment to share some thoughts before I dive back into my busy day.  As we enter 2025, what will set this year apart from others? I believe it can be summed up with a word you’re probably very familiar with: GOALS! For your goals to be truly worthwhile and not something you forget by mid-year, they need to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound—better known as the SMART criteria. Most people are familiar with this acronym, and it's important because it really does capture what effective goal-setting is all about. You may be thinking, "Goal setting isn’t for me; I don’t always follow through. I’d rather go with the flow and see what life brings." However, let me share some reasons why setting goals is essential this year: 1. God's goals set the agenda for your life. 2. A goal helps you stay focused on your primary mission and guides how you conduct your life. 4. Goals are motivating. 5. Goals...
