This led his mother, Nancy Edison, to pull him out of school and homeschool him, allowing him to explore his own interests at his own pace.

Edison’s curiosity and relentless drive to learn were key to his future success. He was constantly experimenting, inventing, and reading books to expand his knowledge. His mother’s encouragement to pursue his passions played a critical role in his development as an inventor.

At the age of 12, Edison started working as a newsboy and later as a telegraph operator, which exposed him to various technologies and sparked his interest in electrical engineering.
