GRATITUDE ALL THE WAY

Image
Hello and welcome to the last day in the month of March 2025. We usually say-How time flies, but the time and seasons are just doing their job, its us who decide how to flex time. If your hands are full and your days busy, you never seem to have enough time on the other hand if you have nothing doing or doing something you don't enjoy, time seems to be a drag. Whichever divide you find yourself, practice the art of gratitude.  Gratitude is a powerful attitude that can transform your life. When you focus on what you're thankful for, you begin to see the world in a new light. Gratitude helps you appreciate the good things in your life, no matter how small they may seem. In a world filled with negativity, criticism, and entitlement, it's easy to get caught up in a mindset of scarcity and dissatisfaction. However, as Christians, we are called to live a life of gratitude, thankfulness, and praise. Cultivating a heart of gratitude can transform your life, relationships, and persp...

THE POWER OF ATTITUDE

Image
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free. Today I can be sad for not having more money or be glad that my finances encourage me to place my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste. Today I can grumble about my health or rejoice that I am alive. Today I can grumble over all that my parents did not give me when I was growing up or feel grateful that they allowed me to be born. Today I can mourn for my lack of friends or embark upon a quest of being friendly. Today I can whine because I have to go to work or shout with joy because I am given the power to create wealth. Today I can murmur because I have to do house chores, or feel honoured that I have a home. What today will be like is up to me, I get to choose what kind of day I will have. Author Unknown. Your attitude is the lens through which you view the world. It's the filter that determines how you react to challenges, opportunities, and everyday experiences...

TAKE TIME

Image
It's the weekend again. What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever your plan is: Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul. Take time to think, it is the source of power. Take time to play, it is the source of perpetual youth. Take time to read, it is the fountain of wisdom. Take time to pray, it is the greatest power on earth. Take time to love and be loved, it is a God-given privilege. Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness. Take time to give, it is too short a day to be selfish. Take time to work, it is the price of success. We often make statements like- "After I settle into my new job, I'll go on vacation. After my next promotion, I'll spend time with my family.' Who are we kidding? Imagine we live in the desert and we are given something very precious... the only glass of water we will ever have. But because of our busy schedule, we never get around to drink the water. By the time our schedule is free, the water has evaporated. In the ...

EMBRACING YOUR UNIQUE CALLING

Image
As Christians, we are all called to live a life of purpose and meaning. However, discovering our unique calling can be a daunting task. In this blog post, we'll explore the importance of embracing our individual callings and provide practical steps to help you discover your purpose. Understanding Your Unique Calling. Your unique calling is the specific plan God has for your life. It's the combination of your passions, skills, and experiences that enable you to serve others and bring glory to God. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." This verse reminds us that we are created for a purpose, and that purpose is to do good works that God has prepared for us. Signs of a Unique Calling. So, how do you know if you're living out your unique calling? Here are some signs to look out for: 1. Passion: You feel a deep sense of passion and excitement when you're engaged in ac...

TIME WILL TELL

Image
An old farmer was plowing his farm with the only ox he had. All of a sudden, his ox broke one leg. A neighbour remarked, "How are you going to work the farm now? You are so unlucky." "Maybe so. Maybe not." Said the farmer. The next day, the farmer spotted a wild horse and caught it. With the horse, the farming work got done 10 times quicker. "You are so lucky," said the neighbour. To which the farmer replied "Maybe so. Maybe not." Later that day, the farmer's son fell off the wild horse and broke his two legs. Again, the neighbour commented, "Wow, who is going to help you now? You are so unlucky." Keeping cool, the farmer replied, "Maybe so. Maybe not." That same evening, the army showed up in town, drafting every able young person for the war, including the neighbour's only son. Yet the farmer's son was not drafted because of his temporary handicap. While some shrink and break down when faced with difficulties, ot...

WAITING FOR GOD'S HELP?

Image
A long time ago, a horrendous flood was wiping out an entire village and its inhabitants. While all the villagers frantically evacuated the village, a very religious man patiently sat in his house waiting for God to save him. A person on a boat comes by the house and yells, "Come on, jump on the boat, let me save your life." With water up to his neck the man says, "No, I am waiting for God's help." The boat leaves. the water now covers almost the entire house, so the man climbs to the top of the roof. Suddenly a helicopter comes by and yells "Come on, hold on to the ladder, let me save your life." But the man once again refuses, "No I am waiting for God's help." Unfortunately, the man drowns and dies. Once in heaven, the religious man furiously comes to God and in a demanding voice says, "How could you let me die like that? I had faith in you. I knew that you would come for me, but you let me die. How could you do that to me? In a ge...

GO BEYOND

Image
Hello There and welcome. It's motivational Monday.  Here is a little spring for your day and the new week. A man meets a guru on the road. The man asks the guru, "Which way is success?" The bearded sage speaks not but points off to a distant place. The man, thrilled by the prospects of quick and easy success, rushes off in the appropriate direction.  Suddenly there comes a loud "splat!!!" Eventually, the man limps back, tattered and stunned, assuming he must have misinterpreted the message. He repeats his question to the guru, who again, points silently in the same direction. The man obediently walks off once more. This time, the splat is deafening, and when the man crawls back, he is bloody, broken, tattered, and irate. "I asked you which way is success," he screams at the guru. "I followed the direction you indicated. And all I got was splatted! No more of this pointing! Talk!" Only then does the guru speak, and he says, "Success is th...

DO IT RIGHT

Image
It's the weekend. Time to let down your hair and unwind, right? I found this interesting and thought to share it with you. A martial arts student went to his teacher and said, "I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?" The teacher's reply was casual, "Ten years." Impatiently, the student answered, "But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice every day, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?" The teacher thought for a moment. "20 years." Author Unknown. Many times, we do things quickly because we lack time. Yet, it is when we lack time the most that we must take our time. How many times have we done things over just because we did not do them right the first time? It's like the rescue team answering to a drowning person in the ocean. They quickly leave the bay. Once by the drowning person, they realize that, in their rush, they l...

LIFE IS TOO HARD

Image
Our complaint that "life is too hard" can change if we consider the idea that it can get even harder. A lady once complained about her husband to a stranger, "I can't stand him anymore. He snores all night,' The stranger sighed while tenderly smiling and said, 'What I would give to hear my husband snore once again. He was killed in a car accident last year.' Seeing no way out of so many problems, a young man dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on, he said. "My cross is too heavy to bear". The Lord replied, "My son, if you can'y bear this weight, just place your cross inside this room, then open that other door and pick out any cross you wish." "With much relief, he sighed, "thank you Lord." As he did what he was told. Upon entering the other room, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, ...

THE POWER OF WORRIES

Image
Death was walking toward a city one morning, and a man asked,  "What are you going to do?" "I'm going to take 100 people, "death replied". "That's horrible!" the man said. " That's the way it is, "Death said. "That's what I do." The man hurried to warn everyone he could about deaths plan. As evening fell, he met death again. "You told me you were going to take 100 people, the man said. "Why did 1000 die?" "I kept my word," death responded. " I only took 100 people. Worry took the others." -Author Unknown. Ninety percent of our worries are unnecessary. Some of our needless worries are about our past, which we cannot change, our health, or things in the future that might never happen. Worries do not generate solutions, but only more worries. It's like running on a treadmill for two hours and expecting to end at a different location. Worries drain our energy, and just like the tre...

I AM SPECIAL

Image
I'm special. In the entire world, there's nobody like me. Since the beginning of time, there has never been another person like me. Nobody has my smile; nobody has my eyes, my nose, my hair, my hands, my voice. I'm special. No one can be found who has my handwriting. Nobody anywhere has my taste for food, music, or art. No one sees things just as I do. In all of time, there has been no one who laughs like me, no one who cries like me, and what makes me laugh and cry will never provoke identical laughter and tears from anybody else ever. No one reacts to any situation just as I would respond. I'm special. I'm the only one of all creation who has my set of abilities. Oh, there will always be someone who is better at one of the things I am good at, but no one in the universe can reach the quality of a room full of musical instruments. Some may excel alone, but none can match the symphony sound when all are played together. I am a symphony. Through all of eternity, no o...

BELIEVE AGAIN

Image
Life has a way of shaking our confidence. Whether it’s a setback, rejection, or a phase of self-doubt, losing faith in yourself can be tough. The good news is that your belief is not permanently lost; it can be rebuilt, you can believe again. Here are steps to guide you back to believing in yourself again. 1.  Reflect on Your Past Successes. When you start doubting yourself, it’s easy to forget or belittle all you have achieved. Take a moment to jot down: Challenges you have faced and overcame. Skills you’ve acquired. Goals that you’ve achieved in the past. Even the smallest victories matter. Remind yourself of your past successes, thereby reinforcing the belief that you are capable. 2. Change Your Inner Musings. Pay attention to how you talk to yourself. If you keep saying, “I’m not good enough” or “I’ll never succeed,” your mind will start to accept it. Instead, replace negative self-talk with: I am capable. I have faced challenges before. I am learning and growing every day. Pos...
