It's the weekend. Time to let down your hair and unwind, right?

I found this interesting and thought to share it with you.

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said, "I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?" The teacher's reply was casual, "Ten years." Impatiently, the student answered, "But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice every day, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?" The teacher thought for a moment. "20 years."

Many times, we do things quickly because we lack time. Yet, it is when we lack time the most that we must take our time.

How many times have we done things over just because we did not do them right the first time? It's like the rescue team answering to a drowning person in the ocean. They quickly leave the bay. Once by the drowning person, they realize that, in their rush, they left on land the only person qualified to do a deep sea rescue...the master scuba diver.

Which choice is more appealing, spending our entire lives doing things over or spending a few extra minutes doing things right?

We are witnessing a season where old posts are resurfacing, and careers are shaking. Appointments are being reconsidered. Partnerships are being withdrawn. Public trust is being questioned. What changed? Time. Maturity changed. Context changed. Standards changed. But the digital footprint remained. The words you released into cyberspace were seeds. After watching the movie "Waiting Wars" by Gloria Bamiloye, you find tthat there is the faith that makes noise and there is the faith that remains when the noise fades. The kind that survives unanswered questions. The kind that keeps showing up long after the excitement has worn off. The kind that does not collapse when feelings fluctuate. Because if we are honest, starting is not the hardest part of the journey. Sustaining is. Anyone can believe boldly when doors are opening. Anyone can testify when prayers are answered quickly.
