SUCCESS=ALIGNMENT WITH GOD'S VALUES

Success, in God's eyes, is faithfulness, not fame. It’s obedience over outcome. When our lives reflect His character and align with His Word, we are truly successful, no matter what the world says.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

What Are God-Given Values?
Your values reflect the priorities God has placed on your heart. They may include:
Love
Humility
Stewardship
Faith
Compassion
Justice
Generosity
Holiness

These values aren’t just good principles- they’re reflections of Christ’s nature. And when we build our lives on them, we’re not just living well- we’re living wisely.

Living Out of Alignment
Many believers feel spiritually dry or disconnected, not because they lack faith, but because they’ve unknowingly drifted from the values God planted within them. Maybe work has become an idol, or people-pleasing has silenced their God-given convictions.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” - Mark 8:36

When your calendar, choices, and heart posture consistently reflect the world more than the Word, it's time to realign.

How to Measure Godly Success

1. Seek God's Voice First
Begin by asking in prayer:
Lord, what do You value for my life?
Where have I prioritized comfort over calling?
Take time in Scripture. God often reveals His direction not in noise, but in quiet obedience.

2. Examine the Fruit of Your Life
Paul reminds us in Galatians 5:22–23 of the fruit of a Spirit-led life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Ask yourself:
Am I seeing this fruit in my relationships, work, and thoughts?
Where is God prompting a course correction?

3. Make One Holy Adjustment
You don’t need to fix everything overnight. Choose one area where God is calling you back to alignment:
Value family? Reclaim your Sabbath rest.
Value faith? Rebuild your quiet time with the Lord.
Value service? Volunteer or check in with someone in need.

When we obey God in small things, He entrusts us with greater things.

Reflection + Prayer:
Lord, help me to clearly see the values You have written on my heart. Show me where I’ve drifted and give me the courage to return to your path. May my definition of success be shaped by faithfulness to You. Amen.
