GOD STILL SPEAKS

I often hear people say something like, what is it with church people, always carrying church on their head, when will they realize that, that thing does not work? Lately instead of arguing my point, I try to see a person who feels that God had failed him and so can not be trusted.

The peophet Habakkuk found himself in this position when the world around him felt confusing and unjust. He had questions. He had complaints. Yet instead of walking away in frustration, he made a deliberate choice:

“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what He will say unto me…” (Habakkuk 2:1)

 Standing on your watch means:

• Creating space for God’s voice
• Guarding your heart from distraction
• Refusing to rush ahead of divine timing

Many people wait, but few watch. Watching requires faith. It assumes that God will respond, even if the response does not come immediately or in the way we expect.

Habakkuk waited with anticipation, eyes fixed on God rather than on circumstances. He trusted that clarity would come in due time. And it did. God spoke, not just words of instruction, but words that would carry Habakkuk through uncertainty.

When God is silent, it does not mean he is absent. Most times Gods silence is calling us into deeper intimacy with Him.

You may be asking how much longer is this waiting supposed to be? The question should rather be how are you waiting?

When God finally spoke to Habakkuk, He instructed him to write the vision. Waiting seasons often end with clarity, direction worth recording, preserving, and running with.

But notice the order: Stand, Watch, Listen, Receive, Write.

If you are waiting on God for direction, reassurance, or the next step, do not abandon your watch. Stay positioned. Stay open. Stay expectant.

God still speaks.
And those who stand upon their watch will hear Him at the right time, in the right way.
