THANKSGIVING AS A TRUST

Hi, and welcome to today's post. The theme for this month is gratitude, thanksgiving, and growth, so we will be exploring all the possible scenarios on how we should pattern our lives in that way.The goal is to make you see reasons why you should be thankful, irrespective of how you feel or what has happened.

When scripture tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18." In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." -  It did not mean to say that when bad or good things happen, that its God's will for us, rather it meant that giving thanks to God-irrespective of the situation (good or bad) is God's will for us. So God desires that we give Him thanks as a show of our trust in Him, knowing fully well that He is bigger than whatever situation we find ourselves in.

Thanksgiving beyond Emotion
True thanksgiving is not dependent on how we feel. It is an act of faith that says, “I may not understand what’s happening, but I know who holds my life.”

When circumstances seem delayed or disappointing, gratitude becomes a weapon against fear and doubt. It quiets anxiety by anchoring our hearts in God’s unchanging goodness.

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” - Habakkuk 3:17–18

This is thanksgiving as trust. When you choose to praise before the breakthrough.

Gratitude Reframes Our Perspective
When we thank God in every situation, we shift from asking “Why me?” to saying “Use me.” Thanksgiving keeps us aware of God’s hand in the ordinary.

Trust grows when we remember. Each time we recall past deliverances and victories, we reinforce the truth that God came through before, and He will come through again.

“Thanksgiving is not just appreciation for what is; it is trust in what will be.”

Let your gratitude today be more than courtesy; let it be confidence.
Thank Him not just for what He’s done, but for what He’s yet to do-because in every act of thanksgiving, trust is being built.
