BORN TO STAND OUT
Note to Self.
Have you ever felt out of place, like no matter how hard you try, you just don’t blend in? Maybe your ideas sound “too different,” your values feel “too old-fashioned,” or your dreams don’t match what everyone else is chasing. Here’s the truth: you were not made to fit in. And that’s not a problem, it’s a gift.
God Made You Different on Purpose
Look at your fingerprints. No one else in the world has the same pattern. That’s how God works. He doesn’t repeat Himself. When He made you, He placed something inside you that no one else carries. That difference is not an accident; it’s a piece of heaven’s design.
The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Think about that, before you even had a name, God already set you apart.
The Trap of Trying to Fit InPaul put it this way: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person” (Romans 12:2, NLT). When you force yourself into the world’s mold, you trade God’s approval for man’s applause. And applause fades quickly.
People Who Stood Out Changed the WorldThink of people in the Bible who refused to blend in:
- Noah built a giant boat when everyone thought he was crazy.
- Daniel prayed when the law said he shouldn’t.
- Esther spoke up when silence felt safer.
- And Jesus? He broke every “fitting in” rule, eating with outcasts, loving the unlovable, and challenging the proud.
You weren’t made to blend into the background. You are salt, light, and a city on a hill (Matthew 5:13-16). Don’t dim your shine just to make others comfortable. The world doesn’t need another copy; it needs the real you.
So stand tall. Own your sacred difference. That’s where your purpose lives.
