MINDSET SHIFT FOR GROWTH

Hello and welcome to today's post. How are you holding up? I trust your goals and vision are coming along fine. Great! just know that you will be fine. Those efforts will surely pay off.

There is a familiar statement that ''change is not easy, but growth demands it". Read that again, this time slowly, paying attention to each word and how they connect in that sentence. This reminds me of a funny exchange we used to have with lecturers then in school. A lecturer will introduce a textbook for students to buy, in our student-characteristic manner we would start chorusing from different corners-"Sir, is it compulsory, Sir, is it compulsory to buy the textbook?" The lecturer would then respond-"it's not compulsory, but it is necessary". Without being told anything further, we knew what that meant. Can you relate? Let me know in the comment section.

If it is growth you seek and not just moving in circles, then change needs to be introduced to actualize it. It's not going to be easy, but you also know that if you keep doing the same thing over and over again, you will be guaranteed just the same kind of results.

A mindset shift for growth involves embracing challenges, learning from failures, and believing that abilities and intelligence can be developed over time. Here are a few key steps to cultivate a growth mindset:

1. Embrace Challenges: Instead of avoiding difficult tasks, see them as opportunities for learning and improvement. The more you challenge yourself, the more you grow.

2. Learn from Criticism: Constructive feedback is valuable for growth. Instead of taking it personally, use it to adjust your approach and refine your skills.

3. Persevere in the Face of Setbacks: Understand that failure is part of the learning process. Use setbacks as stepping stones to reach your goals.

4. Celebrate Effort Over Results: Focus on the process and the effort you're putting in rather than just the end result. Progress comes from consistent effort.

5. Adopt a "Yet" Mentality: Instead of thinking you can’t do something, add “yet.” For example, “I can’t do this... yet.” This small shift reminds you that abilities can be developed.

6. Surround Yourself with Growth-Minded People: Your company really matters. Being around others who also value growth and continuous learning will encourage and inspire you.

What does the bible have to say about our mind? Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect. (Romans 12:2).

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise(Philippians 4:8).

With this shift, you start to see challenges as opportunities, setbacks as lessons, and growth as a continuous journey. It’s a mindset that turns obstacles into pathways for improvement.

Keep birthing possibilities!
